Delicacies from a Unique Place

On the western side of Lesvos, nestled between the mountains of Pelza and Exymnos, lies Mesotopos, a place that dates back to ancient times. In a region characterized by volcanic activity, seasonal rivers, and dramatic weather changes, the nature surrounding the village boasts a very distinctive and wild beauty. Thus, the products of this land are of intense and unique flavor, recognized throughout the entire island.

Our History

The Women’s Cooperative of Mesotopos began as an idea in 1996 for the first time through the initiative of the Social Intervention of Mesotopos. It took two years for this idea to take root. In December 1998, the cooperative was established through the collaboration of the Social Intervention of Mesotopos, twenty-five women, and the Agricultural Service of the Regional Self-Government of Lesvos.

With great enthusiasm and a desire to create, the members delved into their work. The chosen field of work was the production of spoon sweets, tray sweets, jams, liqueurs, handcrafted pasta, and other delicacies. To ensure that our products had their own unique identity from the very beginning, we worked with respect and consistency, based on traditional recipes, without adding preservatives. We adopted a product return guarantee and offer the market reliable products with the aroma and flavor of Mesotopos.

Our Workshop in Mesotopos

Stroll in Mesotopos

Ο Mesotopos, a charming traditional village on the Greek island of Lesvos, is a timeless gem that transports visitors to the heart of Greek culture and beauty. With its charming stone buildings with clay-tiled roofs, narrow cobblestone streets, vivid colorful touches, and a beautiful square with an ancient plane tree, Mesotopos is a picturesque enclave. This village is a cultural hub, hosting traditional festivals and events throughout the year, offering an authentic glimpse into local life.
Beyond its cultural richness, Mesotopos takes pride in its natural beauty, with rolling hills, rugged mountains, and stunning views of the Aegean Sea. Hiking trails lead to the village’s seaport, known as Tabari, and to the two idyllic beaches, Podaras and Chrousos, making it an ideal destination for those seeking tranquility and natural grandeur.

Mesotopos is the epitome of a traditional Greek village where history and tradition harmonize with modern life. It is a destination that must be visited by those seeking an authentic Greek experience.
